Details: This year the California Small Business Association, the California Black Chamber of Commerce, and the National Federation of Independent Small Business Owners is convening California Small Business Day in Sacramento, CA with the sponsorship of Affiliate Organizations, Corporate Sponsors, and Government Agencies. The event has traditionally been hosted by the Legislative Leadership, President Pro-Tem of the Senate, the Minority Senate Leader, the Speaker of the Assembly, and the Minority Assembly Leader. The day’s focus is on giving small business in California the recognition they deserve for their outstanding contributions to California. The day is comprised of speakers and an open dialogue with important Legislative Leaders. The highlight of the day is the award luncheon when State Legislator’s are given the opportunity to honor a small business owner from within their district. These honorees are hand-selected by the Legislators for their dedication and service within the district. Last year 78 out of the 120 California Legislators honored small businesses from their district.

CA Coalition on Worker's Compensation's 6th Annual Worker's Compensation Conference

Details: This year’s conference will feature a panel of senior workers’ compensation executives from California’s and the nations Fortune 500 companies discussing the impact of recent reforms in their companies and the importance of continued vigilance at all levels. CCWC will also be inviting several statewide elected officials including probable candidates for Governor in 2010 and California’s Insurance Commissioner to give their take on the state to each of you during this important conference event.
This annual event will feature for the first time, three separate subject tracks including Claims Management and Legal issues, Workplace Safety and Injury Prevention, and Workers’ Compensation Best Practices will be covered in a total of twelve breakout sessions throughout the two day event. General sessions already scheduled for this year’s conference include:

* Global Risk Management: A review of California versus the rest of the states from the viewpoint of some of the state and nation’s top companies.
