California Small Business Day 2007

Each year the California Small Business Association convenes California Small Business Day in Sacramento, CA with the sponsorship of Affiliate Organizations, Corporate Sponsors, and Government Agencies. The event has traditionally been hosted by the Legislative Leadership, President Pro-Tem of the Senate, the Minority Senate Leader, the Speaker of the Assembly, and the Minority Assembly Leader. California Small Business Day was unanimously passed in 2000 by the California State Assembly as Resolution NO 5, the resolution resolved that the Assembly in recognition of the importance of small business to the economy of the state declares the final Wednesday of May in each year California Small Business Day. The day’s focus is on giving small business in California the recognition they deserve for their outstanding contributions to California. The day is comprised of speakers and an open dialogue with important Legislative Leaders. The highlight of the day is the award luncheon when State Legislator’s are given the opportunity to honor a small business owner from within their district. These honorees are hand-selected by the Legislators for their dedication and service within the district. Last year 78 out of the 120 California Legislators honored small businesses from their district. The success of this event has far surpassed our expectations and we look forward to more success yearly.
