What is the California Small Business Association?
The California Small Business Association is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit, non-partisan organization that makes its mission to provide small business with a meaningful voice in state and federal governments.
Our Duties
- CSBA advocates views of small business to government officials – legislature, administration
- CSBA communicates information to members regarding government programs in existence to assist small business
- CSBA supports election campaigns of selected candidates
- CSBA seeks appointments representation of small business owners on government commissions, boards panels, etc.
Our Origin
- CSBA was founded as an outgrowth of the 1980 White House Conference on Small Business
Our Statement Of Purpose
- CSBA provides a two-way communication network between the legislature and the membership through electronic media
- CSBA is about Political Impact!!!
- CSBA supports candidates that do, and will, support small business issues
- CSBA holds elected candidates accountable!
- CSBA assists members to ‘grow their business’
- CSBA surveys members and non-members to determine needs of small businesses
- CSBA provides solutions to the needs of small businesses
Legislative Involvement
- We serve as a small business advocate at the state and national level.
- We conduct issue research and develop policy.
- We generate constituent response through grass roots political action.
- We provide a strong advocacy voice in the legislative halls.
- We hold small business advisory councils in legislative districts.
